Oil on linen, 14 x 24 inch
Another painting of a building. What is it about buildings in a landscape. I think what I like most about them is that they give a sense detail and realism to the work, and allows me to paint everything else much more abstract and loose.

Thanks guys.

Yes Lawrence having a figure or a building or something manmade probably allows us to connect to the piece better. Although I have seen beautiful paintings that do not have these elements but still I connect with them very much.

Thank you Michael, its good to be back :) I think I was going for variety in brushwork in this painting. I think having enough variety really keeps the viewer engaged with the work. To much variety becomes chaotic though, so it might be a balance between variety and harmony. I think I heard Scott Christensen (in a video) say that recently and it made a lot of sense to me :)

Magnificent Andri. I really like your style. Similar to Tibor Nagy.

I also like the work of Arthur Streeton, and others of the Australian "Heidelburg School". I've noticed that he always adds some indication of a human element in his landscapes. Maybe some people or a building or even just a distant fencepost. I think it helps to give us, as humans ourselves, a connection to the scene.

Andri, welcome back!!! ..... I really love your bold ..but controlled ...brushwork.  I really love the transparent warm darks which give your paintings layers of depth in this short focal range.  Very inspiring, my friend. :))
