11x14 oil. Spent two days to finish this. Had trouble to put snow down as the paint won’t stick to previous layer. I will give another try.

Thank you Denis, Jon, Michael! Yeah, too much oil on underlayer, too thick on the top layer caused the problem. I will have to try another one to learn better control the medium.

Laura, I agree with Denis, you might be using too much oil in the under painting.  .

Laura i wonder if you might have used a bit much walnut oil to cause the problem you describe.  Nice painting though with lots of texture in the snow.

Silvana, I didn't use knife, only brushes. I followed Richard's demo by use walnut oil for under-painting, but I had big trouble with that when I put second layer, specifically when I tried to put think snow. The think paint didn't get off from brush at all. It get muddy, so I have to wait second day to continue the painting and wipe brush evey stroke. I feel it is little bit too chunky.
