Thank you Ruby! Really appreciate your comment.
this is gorgeous Laura
Thank you very much Ana, Ann, Jessica for you encouragement! I learned a lot from the workshop and also from plein aire. Great Nature is the best teacher I believe.
Ann, we can find many places like this. Let's go any time.
I love all the paintings you've done at this workshop, Laura - you are progressing by leaps & bounds!
This is my favorite of your paintings ! We need to find a barn around here to paint.
This is a great study. Your brush strokes show that you are in charge. Very good!
Okay, thank Laura.
Michael, Yellow Lemon rather than Yellow Light.
Michael, I have been waiting for your comment! :)
We used: Yellow Light, Yellow Ochre, Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Cerulean Blue and Ultramarine Blue (and white, of course). Bryan used Vermillion as his red, but I didn't have any, so I used Red Light instead. The colors in the photo are a little less vivid than in the painting, but they are still not very intense.
Bryan is a very good teacher, and he is very encouraging while giving good suggestions. For this subject, I did not do any underpainting, I just applied thick paint directly onto the canvas. Bryan did that in his examples before, so I did the same thing here. I am not sure what I should do in the future. The main objective I had in the workshop was to put the color down and leave it alone, to keep it fresh.
Wow, you are really into this workshop Laura ..great work. It looks like Bryan is a pretty good teacher!! :) What is the palette you are using in the workshop?
