I have the feeling he understood me very well. We also talked about vita. He said that it is an important factor for the price not really a problem. Also the quality of my paintings,.. Think he understood where i stand and where not yet., without me talking much about it.... He asked me where i am learning and i told him about the virtual art academy... He laughed out loud!
In the meantime another gallery replied.... No sorry, we focus on abstract...
Deb, i encourage you too. Just do it :-)

Thomas, it's awesome. I will be so interested to see what happens and he sure to ask him good questions. If nothing more, it's part of learning. I think it will be more because he wouldn't want to just waste his time. This encourages me too!

So instead of going to the life painting session last night i wrote an email to about 15 galleries. The owner of the Lauth gallery, a fairly large one in Ludwigshafen just gave me a call, saying that he likes the paintings and the way i am on. We chatted 30 mins and he will visit me next Thursday. No idea if it will work out and i will ever sell through a galerie... Does it really matter? The experience is priceless .... Thank you Deb!!!

That really is too bad!
There are about 50 galleries in my region. From their websites some are as you discribed others are more down to earth it seems. I will simply contact many of them... copy and paste...if nothing happens i will do another painting i guess ;-)

I have also read that various galleries are very particular about who they show. There are guidelines they have establish about how they view new artists as well. There is one here that never shows local artists for instance. The one I manage focuses on local artists and sometimes I even have trouble getting the artists to show their work. Too bad you are not in NC!

Thanks Deb, your words are a great encouragement! You made me think... Why not contact a few local art galleries by email with a link to my blog and see whether there is a feedback...guess i should do that now.

Your work is so nice and I would love to help. The sad thing for me is that I don't like the selling end of things! I really want to paint and develop while I can. It is always scary for me painting commission jobs too. Always looking forward to seeing your posts.
