oil on 6x6 canvas paper...after reading the many discussions earlier today I was inspired to get my brushes out and get painting..can't improve if my brushes don't move!!!
I was drawn t the trio of tomatoes for the way they huddled together on the dish and for the juicy color..feels good to paint something..anything!!!

You do this style equally as well as you do Flemish I think. Very pretty painting.

This study has nice variety of brush work. Thick paint on plate, tomatoes that have loose energetic strokes and thinly painted background that is just what it should be, background !

Great little study Lori!  Be sure to "separate" the tomato shapes from one another ..especially those two on the right that are mushing together as one shape.  The solution ..make the forward tomato darker along its top edge ..then you will have it sit in front of the back tomato.  Yes, yes ..I realize it is only a study everyone ..but we must be vigil even on small studies.  BTW, you really have some nice color and brushwork going on here.  You really nailed the texture of the tomatoes. !!
