Thanks, Jessica and Cristina. Aurelia - orange is my favorite color but I used a lot of yellow (golden) ochre n this one - I've since added more touches of orange! I just love contre-jour paintings - Marc Delessio has things to say in their favor

Lovely painting Jon.  Like your complementary colour harmony (orange and blue, my favoured too).  Nice broken colour in the foreground too.

Hi, Stu! - you know I didn't even think of them as reflections! Maybe that helped!? I've reworked it a bit - redid the mast (more forrard, more vertical) and injected more color...
