Hmm, the problem with correcting is you tend to start repainting the whole thing - usually worse. That's OK though - got to learn!!!

Thanks to you Jim and Ian. It's looking much better than it really is in the glow of your praise ;)

This is a very nice painting, Jon!  There is a distinct three-dimensional feeling in this -- especially with your trees with some parts slightly blurred and others parts in focus.  I do not know if it was intentional, but it gives this a very unique feeling.  The space where the road goes between the clumps of trees shows this effect quite well.  I also like the bluish shadow in the lower right.  It seems to add some balance and a little "cooling" contrast with the bright grasses.  Nice work!

Nice work, Jon. If you never had any bad paintings, why would you try to do better. Keep it up; practice may not always make perfect, but it sure brings one closer to it. I really like the softness you achieve and your handling of all the greens. Stu

Very nice painting. The colors, the amount of detail...the trees are excellent!

I really like this painting!!  You have handled your greens very well!! ..love the grass colors.  I agree with Ann about your shadow shape.  I really like your use of transparent, warm dark in your trees.  Your path is a nice lead in, but is not obvious and does not distract ...when you correct the shadow shape, FRAME IT!

You've improved your painting a lot Jon.  The colors harmonize better.  My eyes flow throughout the painting easily and it feels like a peaceful spot.  Can almost hear the bees humming. Great job!

Round bush is great ! The tree is simplified and easier to read. I like the introduction of purple-ie shadows to help all those greens. The shape of the shadow is a little too cloned. Check Michaels shadows against his greens he is the master at color and variety of shape. Beautiful work !
