This is done in oil on 11x14 canvas board. I chose to eliminate the dome & instead add the alps in the background with the aim of directing the viewer to the focal point. I hoped to create enough contrast in shapes with the exaggerated roundness in the clouds

Hi Lori, wonderful idea, I like your alps and the mood. One thing to my eyes looks a bit out of place. It is the blue form under the dark middle boat. You know, the bumpers are reflected in their original white color, but the boat changes color completely in the reflection. Maybe you can bring in some stripes with a bit of the boat color into the water, so that the blue shape is broken a bit and shows some of the brown or mauve of the boat slightly varied.
