Plein air oil 9" by 12" on canvas panel. Painted up on top of the ridge above the Kingsbury Grade on the Nevada side of Heavenly Valley. Painted on the only day that I skied on a trip with my family (snow was not good). This is late in the day and looking into the sun that is about to set in the West. That's not snow but rocks. I am at about 7300 feet in the Sierra's at Lake Tahoe and there's not much snow at all in late February.

This is my favorite ! The value structure is great and the colors are nice and rich. Its a keeper !
Thanks Ian. I felt pretty good about it when I finished. It was getting a little colder and darker, so I had to move along; but moving along is usually good!
How did you carry your painting backpack up to 7300 feet? You are amazing!
