Oil on textured panel 11" by 14". This was done painting along with Johannes Vloothuis last May in a paintalong. This is a very good way to learn how to paint alla prima. This is from the same paintalong that Ann Turner posted this week.

Nicely done Stu ! Thanks for posting. I am fascinated that artists can paint the same subject but create their own version of beauty. This site is exciting because of the variety of artists that are all gaining skills and having fun !

Thanks Jessica.  Check out the paintalongs with Johannes on www.improvemypaintings.com.  You don't have to do the live class, but can later download the videos and do them on your time schedule (like Ann Turner).  A four Saturday session is only $20 and the videos are high quality with a lot of teaching.   Stu

It's beautiful, Stuart!  I like the purple shadows in the water & snow - gives it that icy look, but still you feel a bit of the warmth of the sun.
