Thanks Jessica!
Great, Michael, thanks for sharing - I've got Roberts and Payne - I'll check put the others!!! It's good of you to make the effort!
Such a lively & interesting painting, Jon!
Oh, the best one: "Composition in Outdoor Painting" by Edgar Payne.
Hi Jon. Here is the list of references on composition. I was going to send this to your inbox, but thought others might want to peruse the list ..so here goes: " Pictoral composition" by .Henry Rankin Poore. "The simple secret to better composition", by Greg Albert, "7 Keys to great paintings" by Jane Hofstetter. "The 5 essentials in every powerful painting" by Ramon Kelly. "A proven Strategy for creating great art" by Dan McCaw. "Mastering composition" by Ian Roberts. He has a 2 set DVD instructional video also. "Strengthen your paintings with dynamic composition" by Frank Webb. "Design and compositional secrets of professional artists" by: International Artist.
Great fun to look at too Jon!
Gosh, thanks folks! I seem to have a discrepancy problem between what I like in my own stuff and what other people appreciate - probably shows I don't know what I'm doing :) - it was a blast to do though - I was thinking that if I enjoy painting this much, at least I'm sure to keep going!
Great job Jon !!!
Great job on this Jon, I am impressed by your similar subject matter but different approach to both boat paintings. You are on a roll with progress on your painting
