Plein air painting once a week sounds such a good idea Stu! We are just coming into Spring here in NZ so look forward to trying to do that this year.

Looks good Stu! I like the way the light in the clouds moved the eye to the horizon..nice foreground!! I have had a chance to get started on the workshop yet!!! Have to play catch up:)

Thanks Nancy. I did glaze this but wasn't very happy with it and I'm still messing with it and will post later. I haven't started my alla prima painting yet, but I've been plein air painting at least once a week all summer, and my alla prima painting has been steadily improving, so, we'll see. Stu

Hi Stu,
This is really a strong painting. You did what I tried to do, but somehow didn't...use bold contrast. Well done. I tried glazing mine, but the paint is still not dry enough. maybe i used too much oil. Also, thank you for your kind comments on the ones I posted. I'm amazed at how challenging it is to paint sunsets Richard's way.

Very powerful sky Stu, love the foreground also, very interesting painting I could enjoy looking at this one without colour. Great job!
