yes, watercolor.  Masking fluid is a resist for watercolor to protect areas of the paper from receiving color.  No, it won't work with oils.  This painting began as a "pouring" that required several layers of masking.

I love this...is this watercolor?? What is masking fluid? Can you use masking fluid with oils?? Did you use masking fluid on this painting?? Bill.. i love you work. Thank you!
