Thanks!  That is helpful info on how to photo one's art.  I may sign up for the next workshop.  I am assuming that it will be in December.

My problem with painting are the 10 hour days at work and sometimes six days a week.

Thanks,

I have ordered and I am now enjoying a couple of Richard's tutorials.  My wife is wanting me to try a workshop.  I had seen a couple of articles by Richard in the International Artist magazine that mentioned these workshops.

Can you try just a single month of a workshop?  Also do you scan or photo your painting for uploading to this site?

Carolyn,

Have you done one of Richard's monthly workshops yet?

Thanks,

I have a lot of family from Hinds County.  I made my first visit to Gulfport this year.  My wife and I really enjoyed it.  I took a quick peek at your work.  Most enjoyable!

Work is cutting into my painting time at this moment, but visiting CA is inspiring me to find the time to paint more.

Love to be a painting buddy. Home for a few weeks so making the most of it.Still getting used to the different mediums.I'm doing a weekend workshop at the end of the month using acrylics like water colour paints. So that will be a challenge. It's such a great way of meeting and learning from Richards site.So look forward each month.

Hey, thanks for leaving me a comment.  The transitions is on the big cloud above the sun, on the upper part where the orange has to blend into yellow.  Look for the dots.  It works like magic.  LOL

Hi, and how ya doing.  Live is so busy since we got back to the ranch!  Geeeeezeee

All of a sudden I am helping daughter (and not painting I might add).  sigh

Thank you for the introduction Carolyn.  I did last months painting, but didn't post it, ran out of time.  I am going through this months painting, started this weekend and hope to post it for comment before too long as well.  I will take a look at some of your posts.  It was nice to get your message, good to know this is a real community.  Thanks.

Lovely to hear from you Carolyn. I have just come back from a trip up north visiting granddaughters one of whom lives not far from Richard Robinson in Ruakaka. And yes! I visited him and had a day's lesson with him at Waipu Cove - a gift from my husband for my birthday. It was so special! Richard really is a very generous teacher. He tolerated my old brain very considerately and was great company. After being frustrated with acrylic paints for so long after Richard's help I am moving on to water soluble oils and TRYING to broaden out more. So haven't got around to doing a sunset painting this month. As for finding this site elementary. Far from it - I am continually inspired by so many good artists. Thank you for your thoughtful message.

Insatiable - that's a good word, for the longing to do as much art as possible to make up for lost time - to let out all the stops, and no longer hold oneself back.  I'm so glad you are enjoying my portraits.  I always was drawn to portraiture, but was in my 60's before I let myself have a go at it, other than a very occasional pencil sketch.

Thank you Carolyn for your comment on my Fire in the Sky #3.  It is palette knife.  Hard to do that for me with a brush as I over work things, but give me a knife and I can sing.  smile

Carolyn, when did your "bend in the road" happen?  Are you just now getting on your feet?

Yes, Carolyn, we are almost neighbors.  We drove through Prescott a couple years ago and ate at a nice little Mexican restaurant.  Where in California will you live when you sell your house?  My kids and grandchildren live in Seattle area and Hawaii and I have family spread across the nation.  We've settled down in this small town of Meadview. a retirement community, in the high desert...living in a 31 foot 5th wheel with 3 slide outs. Love fishing in Lake Mead and roaming the desert in our Polaris RZR...and of course painting!  Welcome to the Complete Artist and workshops.  Glad you are back to painting again.

Hi! Glad to be friends! I am sorry I didn't see it, if you did it before. I would have accepted immediately.

See you in the sunset (workshop!)
