LOL, yes, drawing is a lot of work. I dont do much of what I call my "serious drawings" and typically they are for somebody. Then because they are "for somebody they have to be perfect" so I do a lot of measuring to be sure I am in the right spot. I am joining a group of friends in January (internet friends) and we are going to start a Bargue drawing - Atelier Classical Drawing training ending up with drawing cast drawings.....like going to an art school idea. Striving for perfection in the drawing you are allowed to measure, but not to the extent I do and so I hope to let ME get better at just drawing what I see. I did the Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain with a group of internet friends a few years back and I was pleased that I could draw. Once finished with the book, though, I stopped practicing and just drew for a painting I would be doing. I am always envious of those who appear to be "sketch artist" and just draw on a white sheet of paper and it all be correct. LOL Is there ever enough time in the day? tee hee Have a Merry Christmas. Thank you Jon for agreeing to be a painting friend. Yes, I'm focused on painting right now and trying very hard to 'pick up that brush' and keep at it! I think it's a forum like this that helps to keep our enthusiasm going.
I have always heard that repeats were good, although I have never wanted to do one. LOL Like, if you want to get really good at something, paint THAT. Over and over.
Thanks Jon for the comment on the gallery/me photo. We all know it is all but impossible to do "another" one like one we did and get the "same creative forces coming out of your hand". LOL Guess I will attempt another one looking again at the original photo and not my painting. smile
Thank you Jon for your comment on my gallery sunset painting. Would you believe that my daughter just had a fit over that painting once it was framed "and in the gallery"! She said she wants one just like that!
I Jon, thanks. Was nice doing a workshop for a change. I am trying to finish my VAA course, so I don't do a workshop very often, but rather focusing on that. Who was this workshops winners? For some reason I cannot lock in and see. I could read the crits, but not the winners. Nice to see Richards give a crit at your work too! Well done!

Thank you Jon for 'liking' my Seascape. It means a lot coming from an artist as you are!

Thank you for your comment. Your landscapes are lovely too, something I wish I were better at painting.
Hey Jon,
You're very welcome; you deserve it. I'm most likely not doing Workshop 14, too busy with VAA and my J-O-B. See you later. ;-)
