Thanks for that comment Gail, yes it could be the whole top of the picture needs softening and toning down. The skies here are very intense, that was the idea to start with, very bright sunny day, but I do think paintings always look a bit better with a little more atmosphere, or weather as such. I think putting the horse`s in a spotlight or something, but as you know not easy, and toning down the mountains and background. Only learned a lot of this, this last year on the Internet, so this painting was before, I knew anything really.

I am sure Gail, that you have dragged it everywhere gorgeous, and so appropriate, us horse lovers. Just posted a painting of mine, hope you can take a look , desperately need help with this one, aerial perspective or something, not sure but am not entirely happy, although it could have a bit of potential, maybe it is just me being hopeful. Too much work to discard. I paint instinctively, and have only in the last year actually learned anything.LOL and the more I learn the more I realise that I do not know.

Hi, Gail!
Now I see what you mean! Yes I did paint china as well and for some time I did ceramic restoration. Couple of years I painted fabrics which you can see on my friend's website www.sivanatelier.com if interested LOL.
Thank you very much for reply!
Dear, Gail!
I always late with reply and feel guity. Thank you very much for looking at my works! I'm not sure what did you mean by china paintings, so I hope you tell me LOL.
Long ago I graduated from Art and Design College in Russia where my major was ceramik. I've always preferred slulpture to painting, so when I decided to get to watercolor I hade start all over. In 2000 when I got unemployed I decided to give it a try and went through a piles of books to see if I could get more info. I took me about a year to achiev what you can see now. Then in 2004 I quit painting, so unfortunately they all are pretty old paintings.
Now I'd like to do something in oils that's how I ended up with Richard's site which I think is very useful and simply perfect.
I also went through you works and I really like them, I like your drawings a lot!
Happy painting and happy drawing!!!!
Hi Gail, thanks for taking the time to check out my web page.I am very excited that it is up and running as I have wanted to do this for a long time.
Happy Painting, Richard

Hi Gail,
Thanks for your comment - I love Australiana
I will put up more paintings when I work out how to use the other side of my brain and not let this computer and my camera get the better of me.
Hi Gail Thank you for the gift, never ever been sure how to do those, but it is appreciated. I cant believe we are not friends already, big mistake as we have so much in common. I LOVE horses as well. Bred ridden raced jumped judged in fact everything my whole life. I would be a better artist, and had MUCH more money as well, not complaining, just saying it as it is LOL. They took my all, for many joyous years. Have you heard the saying?, "Riding a horse is buying freedom" Love that, it is so true.
