Silvana, thenk you for your comments on my black and white sunset.I am enjoying looking at your paintings, and your fresh, relaxed style of painting. Dorothy
I am delighted to be your friend Silvana - this is all very exciting being part of such a friendly creative community - I am so impressed with the beautiful work I see everywhere - including yours!!
Thanks Silvana for your welcome. I am impressed with what I see here. I may not produce much art myself but I sure appreciate it. I am leaving that side of things to my wife Robin. I put my artistic energies into music - then we don't tread on each other's toes!
It's pretty simple Silvana..and I actually use pretty small jars because my leftover piles aren't usually all that big..just that I am always afraid ill never make the same color again!!
I get the jars in an art supply store..maybe Michaels or Jerry's Artarama..you might even find them online..the ones I use are about 2 inches tall with 1 1/4 diameter. I use a small palette knife to scrape the paint in & out.
Thanks, Silvana, for your welcome friendship. We are all here to learn, and it's such a pleasure to be able to share the passion with others. I know what you mean about knowing the names of colours you never knew before... I go to sleep dreaming of a painting, or working through how to solve a problem. And you are right, this is an excellent site, made up of excellent people.
I know, you just want to get on with it and this is fine but if your intent is to become the best painter you can be you need to spend the time to understand how to use the painters tools. You can do this all by yourself. Instructors are handy and get you there much quicker but there is loads of art instruction on the internet. YouTube.com then art instruction will keep you busy. Give it a go. When your out with your dog bring along a small drawing pad and pencil of charcoal. Work at your drawing skills. In time it will come together.
thank you Silvana - I was dissapointed with the :washout" look of this painting when I downloaded it. Looking through your gallery of pintings, you are a very competent painter, I do like your fresh style of painting particulary your fishermns wharf ones. Dorothy
Hi Silvana! I know what you mean about being afraid you'll ruin a painting that you're working on! I've been finding that all my paintings seem to go through a ruined stage when I want to scream..then all at once they come together & whatever mess I've made seems improved!! Exhausting process!! You're doing a great job:))
