Congratulations, nice painting ! Your use of form and color is well done. I have seen a marked progress since you have been posting your paintings.
Nice work. Although your light between the two objects is interesting, moving the two objects together so they overlap a little and their shadows join together and they each reflect a little color onto the other often strengthens the work. Set it up that way and give it a try. If you don't have a light box, there is an easy to build lightbox plan on Larry Seiler's "Painting from Life" blog; if you are interested, I will send you the URL to find it. I built a box from his plan when Richard was doing his 4 month still life workshop series and it worked out really well. If you really want to accelerate your still life painting, take a look at Richard's 4 workshop series; it will give you a lot of pointers. Hope this is helpful. Your work is excellent with beautiful shape creation, color harmony and fabulous brushwork. Stu
Love the edges!!!
I love the way you handled your edges! .... they meld the elements into their surrounding so nicely!! You have motivated me to set up some simple little still life in my studio ... see what I can do with it!
