12" by 16" oil on linen panel. This is a little neighborhood market that I drive past daily. It's colorful signs on a sunny day always catch my eye.

Thanks Ruby. I have a bit of an addiction to detail and have to work at toning it down in a scene like this. Stu
So much detail and so beautifully painted
Li, nobody has bought the painting yet. Thanks for all your compliments. Buildings are one of my favorite things to paint, and I really do like all the detail. Stu
Stuart, This one is so perfect and complemented that I can not evaluate with my limited know-how. I can only tell you the impression I got from it. Excellent value contrast:Grey sky and background make the foreground stand out and shine though you did not put a lot of white or bright colour. I can feel the strong sun light. Very interesting and nice. From sharp edges and busy details of the house at front to the greyed down colour and simple shape and soft edges of the middle and background houses, you created an excellent perspective effect. The details you paciently put on added a great flavor of the place. Again, a great job!!! Only 8hours! I start to cry for myself. The guy bought your painting has a good tast. Lucky for him.
Li, thanks for the WowZaaaaa! I probably put about 8 hours into this painting. All the lettering and the detail in the signs (even though mainly suggested) takes some time. Right under the 99 cent sign (red with yellow letters on the right corner of the building) is a yellow striped object; these are the iron bars that pull over the windows to prevent burglaries. Those iron bars are usually pulled shut over all the windows when I drive by. I just got the photo on a day when they were not pulled shut and the light made interesting patterns on the windows--lucky me! :)) to you! Stu
Stuart, I just read your comment now and realized that you have already answered my question. Waiting for your W21. Back to this painting, it is a very complemented beautiful realistic work. How long it took you to finish? I learned a new word from Dorian and think that it is very right place here to practise it:WowZaaaaa!
WowZa! : ))
Super!!! One of your best, I love it, Stuart. Is this for W21?
Silvana, thanks, and yes, there is atmospheric perspective here, but it is not for the workshop; I will be painting from Richard's photo reference. The painting on the easel is a larger version (24" by 18") of a painting that I did post here; the title is "Morning Light" and it is in my gallery on page 2. The painting on the easel will be finished soon, because I am going to enter it in the local county fair competition. I think I have a buyer for it as well--another physician who has bought my work before told me today that he is interested in buying it when I am finished. Stu
Stu, I think in your painting there is also atmopheric perspective... very subtle, but it's there... am I right? This painting should also be for the workshop!
Your studio looks extremely comfortable! Have you uploaded that painting which is on the easel? looks great!
