oil on canvas panel 11" by 14" plein air. This is Bolinas Lagoon just North of Stinson Beach as seen from Bolinas Ridge up on Mt. Tamalpaias at about 2000 feet elevation. Nice afternoon with no significant wind and dlearing of all the morning's fog on the Bay. Visibility was about 50 miles. That's tonight's fog bank out on the ocean waiting for night to come visiting. Laura Xu and I were out painting with our Saturday plein air group.

I like the glowing light in the foreground grass, it seems like is lifting up and give life to the painting.
Love the perspective!! Beautiful!!
I love the colours and treatment of the foreground and sea against the dramatic greens.
The additionof some linking greens in the foreground will make a great job of it.
Thanks Jon; great suggestion. I am going to do some fixes that Michael suggested and will work on tieing the trees into the foreground, probably by restating the darks along the path I have mad down into the trees and bring a few of them forward. It's hard to see all these things when you are out there and "into" the painting.
I very much (really) like the concept of a downhill view, Stu!! what's the foreground color - could you 'tie' the foreground to the trees a bit so that they are not quite so separate?
Stu, very well done! The water and the sky are awesome!
