Hi Michael, thank you very much for your such detailed comments! I really appreciate it. I agree with you all. I don't use Thalo Blue normally and I feel I used Thalo with White all over the painting particularly for the water part. To be honest, I really struggled with the painting. I am thinking to give another try when I have time.

Hi Laura. Really nice work in the foreground water, Laura! I think the overall tonality of the picture is much to cool. You have used an icy blue through out your painting. Even your "warm" colors of the buildings are very cool. Your value structure is not working because you have used mainly one value ..middle ..with a scattering of darks. How to fix it? First: Paint the water with a warmer blue and higher up the value scale (lighter). Use warmer tones in the buildings and run their reflection into the water. Warm your darks such as the tunnel entrance and tree and the water line of the foreground boat ....Use some warm grays to describe the shadowed areas of the boats and building in shadow. In other words: get rid of those icy colors and instill some warmth. :))
