Thank you Jendrawan! I really appreciate your tips!!!!

This is very well painted.  The building on the right is too close to be much affected by atmospheric perspective in my opinion. A thin strip of white at the horizon would push it back and give more depth,  The foreground would benefit from more darks.

very good though, like it

Thank you Jessica! Thank you Lori! So punctual and exact suggestions! I really do think the roof looks tilted a bit. You are all so good observers! I feel I am learning so much! You might find it funny, but each time I correct something I am really afraid of ruining it... for each brush stroke I give, I wonder, ...what will the result be? I hope that with practice this self distrust will gradually disappear! It'll be a looong way until I get to my first 100 paintings...(as Richard mentions in his video! )   :), :)  Just the idea of blurring and softening is a complex one... but I will try practicing that!

Silvana this is coming along very nicely..the piers and water are terrific..that water really shimmers. I like the reflections in the water as well. I'm thinking you're soooo close!! What if you blur the horizon a bit more as well as that back building..I think to achieve the atmospheric perspective the edges need to be a little softer back there..maybe mix some building color into the water back there as well? I haven't even picked up my brushes yet on this one so these suggestions are a guess based on just looking!! Can't believe you've gotten so much accomplished already!! :)

This is really beautiful, Silvana!  Especially impressive for your first (!) attempt at buildings & people! I really like the way you've painted the boats, giving just enough detail & beautiful highlights.  I think there might be a slight downward curve in the distant building (lower part)??  But it might just be the photo? If not, it's an easy fix.

Thank you Sharon! I hope you let us know when your grandbaby comes into this beautiful and challenging world! I can imagine you painting and painting and painting him/her!

Silvana, this is very good, water and reflections are great, water shimmers.  I can't wait to see other artists paintings. I had to go ahead and finish because I have a new grandbaby coming soon and need to be ready to go as soon as I get the call.

If this painting could talk .... so many changes...Richard and his workshops are pushing me further and further... Buildings? I have never tackled... and people, even if they are simple silhouettes, neither. But as you say Laura, we are learning! Betsy thank you for your comment! Stu, thank you for your help!!! I DO feel I am learning with all your suggestions and comments in all the paintings!! I'll do sth with the roof. It is slightly lighter, but I asume not enough to be appreciated in the photo!

This really is much better Silvana. You could lighten up the background roof just a little to make it lighter than the walls of the building. Whites stay white as they recede, and they warm up a bit; so your roof where the sun hits it would be lighter than the walls. I think you have done a great job. Stu
