Love the variety of grays and greens. You captured the bright daylight very well
Gorgeous!!
This is lovely.
Beautifully done. Like the way you played with the lights and shadows on the tree trunks. Agree with Ana's suggestion on making the very left tree leaning right a bit to balance the painting.
It is a great painting! you played with light and dark very well. Thomas has his point as the trees are slightly leaning towards left, the brush strokes on them and the surrounding bushes are towards left and the big mass of foliage is heavier on the left side of the painting,it gives the impression that the whole painting is tipping on that direction.
For me, I am talking from compositional point of view, if the very left tree trunk will be orientated towards his friends in the painting so it shows like it's coming in not going out, will do the balance.
Otherwise for the palette you used, the tonal value, brush stroke, light and shade this painting is a winner. Absolutely love it. Cheers, Ana
Great painting, great values colors..and nice brushstrokes !!
Hi Jane. What a beautiful painting!! . I love your composition. Your tonal values are well planned to give us the strong illusion of bright sunny light!!! the texture on your trees is outstanding ..your sunny greens are beautifully painted. I love the curved lead in ..nice contrast from the otherwise straight lines of the street and trees. I like the way you have kept the tree foliage in sunlight darker then the ground plane in sunlight. I think you really did a nice job with the tonal value of those light gray trees ..especially since they are in shadow!!! ...very difficult, but you pulled it off nicely. The little points of light, the bus ..all contribute to added interest in that area ..without it being overdone!! ...great painting.
This is beautiful! Such fresh & lovely colour & brushstrokes!
