Sharon - yeah - by glazing! oh well, if it looks better.. -thanks!
OK, will do - thanls for the help! x
Hey Jon, great changes to this painting the falling overboard to the left is gone. Love the clear yellow on the main boat that is repeated in the slightly greyed yellows of the village. Just paint out the rope that goes from the yellow boat up and out on the right side. That wy you get rid of the x and the line took the viewer out anyway. The other x's are softer and don't seem to bother as much. At least thats the way I see it. Frame this one
Love how you warmed up the whole painting
OK, I get it. Wow, if I add it to my list it will be point 1003 not to forget O.O. ;)
Thanks, Jessica - it's true - the folks on this site are very helpful - nice way to learn!
Hi Jon. I have read that somewhere ...but notice that the intersection of those lines is like a magnet ...it is the same as when you put a cross on the churches spire ...it attracts the eye. I guess there are ways to crisscross the lines ...maybe lose part of the line and pick it up somewhere else? ...I will need to read up on that.
Beautiful, Jon, really like the changes you made.
Really learn a lot from you, Michael - thanks to you! Is criss-crossing a non-non? I've never heard that one! Good point about the counterchange - that I do know - but so remember all these things - shake shead - OK - I'll do it
Thanks, Laura - I applied a yellow ochre glaze over a lot of it. I hate glazing - I'm starting to get finickity - I need to ban the liquin and apply big well-considered strokes of thick paint, I guess
Thanks, Pauline!
