I have added more rocks to the foreground and a few more highlights here and there.

Thankyou Nancy! Maybe a bit too strong and fearsome? :)
Thankyou Ana :)
Great job on your brush strokes and your greys!
Thankyou Cristina. There are some very interesting paintings coming out of this workshop. So much talent!
Beautiful work Ngaire!!
Thanks for your valuable comments Michael. There is certainly lots to think about and it's nice to have someone to critique my painting. I have learnt so much from Richards instruction but still have loads to learn. I love seeing your latest works on here, so talented! I will most certainly think about what you have suggested in future paintings.
Very good work, Ngaire! Great atmosphere and separation between the foreground and background. You really nailed the transition area (green hills) between the two. I love the variation in your tree colors!!! ...try to vary the shapes the next time you paint a stand of conifers. I like your gradation of the foreground from dark at the lower left to lighter ...moving us up and into the painting. I would like to see some warm reflected light bouncing up into your large rocks ....this reflected light would be from the warm grasses. Would also like to see one more lighter value on the edge of your large rocks and along the edge of your grass ...unless you are intending this to be an overcast day? Now, think about this for future paintings ..because it will come up again, many times: With repetition, you need variety ...your foreground rocks are all the same size, value, color, texture, and all are hard edged. This area requires simplification and more variety. Combine some of these rocks into one mass, have lost and found edges, soften some of the edges, throw up warm reflected light, and highlight a few with some warm highlight. Okay, just a few thoughts ..good work!!! :))
Bravo!!! Ngaire, I love the way you retouched those rocks. Now I can tell some of them are near me because of the size and more saturated colour. Some far away from me with smaller size and lighter and greyer colour because of the air and light. Beautiful!!! Ngaire, I will go to talk to Michael about your work to see how he think of it. Please wait. By the way, your change of the value of the foreground also makes the whole painting more vivid. Excellent!!!
Ngaire, nice colors and bold rocks!
