12" by 16" oil on linen panel. This is a little neighborhood market that I drive past daily. It's colorful signs on a sunny day always catch my eye.

I'm stunned by how much detail you are able to achieve, particularly in the lettering. I wouldn't have the first idea of how to do that. A wonderful painting.

Thanks Ann and Michael, and Michael: don't worry about the like; I'm not tagging it for the competition.  Actually if you accidentally hit like, you can withdraw the like by hitting like again.   As you go through at the end of the month, the best way to see if you have already "liked" a photo is to look at the tab--if it says "like" you have not liked it yet, but if it says "liked", you have already liked it (kind of a tongue twister).

oops! ...I hit the "like" button ..did not see that it was tagged for the workshop ...sorry.

Stu, I am happy you finally posted this great painting!!!  You have managed beautifully on keeping  everything subordinate to your main center of interest (the store front).  Frame it show it to the store owner ....I bet he or she would purchase it?!

The detail is amazing. Not sure that you need to recover from your addiction. Your ability to do a beautiful work like this is unique and a current beauty. "Urban" art has its own beauty. Congratulations and be true to yourself.

Caryl, I have been working on this for several months.  obviously the lettering on the signs took awhile.  I suppose I spent about 8 hours total painting this.  You know I am a recovering detailaholic and fall off the wagon and do one of these every once in awhile.  Are you going to join us for next month's competition?  Thanks for the compliments.   Stu

Stu.... you really are incredible. I won't ask how long it took to put in all the details... golly !
