sorry, must have just missed you on chat. When I signed on you were there, and then your face disappeared.
Whoooo Hooooo, I just discovered Richard R's newsletter. I signed up and sent notices to about 10 friends. I ordered his DVD with all his paintings, that is so exciting, however.......living in the states it will be 21 days before I should expect it. I plan on SATURATING my brain with his use of color! LOL You told me that you ordered one of his DVD's but I have forgotten which one.........Guess I will continue this regular e-mail. Later buddy, Ro

I understand about seeing things to paint everywhere. We were sitting in the shade of a tree with lots of under brush having our lunch. This was about 20 minutes of looking.....all of a sudden, I started noticing all sorts of things....close up......limbs with smaller limbs and clusters of pretty leaves. Paintings every where. he he // The crazy thing I have been noticing about nature is......here is a green field, green, green......and there will be one group of dead yellow leaves on one bush. Or....one single red flower in a very large area. Conclusion, you can put a dot of any color you want any where in the landscape and it will belong. All over the place is the raw sienna color of dead leaves. This color is found in the trees, in bushes, and in the plants on the ground. I was amazed. Do you have these things where you live? Ro

Hi Gail, thank you for welcoming me. I like your paintings, especially those of the outback, horses etc....Am just working my way around the site to see how I can add some of my paintings....I live near the sea so seascapes are usually my thing........... Joy

I thank you for the wonderful share. As I progress in my painting, I hope to do things in the same vein. I love fantasy artwork. Vladimir Kush, Luis Royo, Julie Bell are also other fantasy artists that I enjoy. Please, continue to let me know if you do any other fantasy. Happy painting!!!

GAil thank you for your comments on my pictures "The Seventies".
I have probably not made it clear enough, that I have done these pictures in the Seventies,in my twenties I was back then. Shortly after this time I gave up painting and drawing (more or less) until last November....
Yes you are right,"woman, surprised" makes one think of Edward Munch "The Scream"....
The picture with the rider "Arrival": it turned out darker in the photograph than it is. I always try to adjust my photos, alas this one got a bit too dark, I agree.
Also, the originals really look a lot more tatty than in the photos. I used the free software "FAststone Photo Resizer" to cut the edges clean, put a shadow round or frame them....) Faststone software I would highly recommend - very easy to use and useful

I intend to post as soon as I can figure out how to download photos off my digital cam. My best work is still in progress but will post it as soon as I can discover the process.
