thanks Stuart. i did put some colour in but not enough perhaps. It's not showing much in the photo.

Karen, really nice composition with a nice pointer to your focal point grapes in your cut pear.  You could strengthen it a little by dropping some more color into your shadows, particularly the one on the cup cast by your grapes.  Your grapes are very translucent and light will shine through them onto the cup.  Really an attractive painting.  Stu

Can someone tell me where to reply to comments. Is this the right place? Or do you go to the pages of the people who commented? Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to tell me what you think, It helps a lot to know if your painting works and what other people see that might make it better. I
Was aiming to get light into this and to see if I could make an almost central focus work.

I love the angular composition and high contrast although on my screen the black ground looks maybe a little flat and dense. Those light-filled grapes simply sing!

I like your composition. Everything related gracefully. I like your semi transparent grapes, red and purple ones, very pleasent. Your background colour made a profect contrast with your grapes,  I also like thoses details of 2 stems have no grapes on them, it makes your painting full of life. Wonderful.

This is a beautifully delicate painting, the grapes are so full of light. Very crisp and clean color.
