oil on textured panel 11" by 14" plein air--Nice day this past Saturday with the fog just lifting to the top of the towers. Painted from the coastal walk at Land's End to the West of the Golden Gate Bridge on the San Francisco side. Lot's of people out walking and enjoying the views. I was painting with Laura Xu and my Saturday plein air group. Laura's painting was very nice and I hope she will post it here as well.

Thanks Betsy.   Sorry about the job interview not paying off.   Yes, I am very lucky to live here and get to places like this to paint so easily.  Laura, I'm glad you posted your painting; it looks great.    Stu

Very nice. I was there in April, as my husband had some business North in Sonoma County. [Job interview, which he unfortunately didn't get. :-( ] I thought of you, as we drove along the water there. I even found the rock that was a subject of another workshop. You are so lucky to live there and to be able to paint such nice scenes.

Stu, I made correction on the tree levels between two side in there, Thank you Stu! I feel I am not even near to achieve the beautiful scene. I will post it anyway and I will try one in studio soon.

Thanks Thomas. And thank you too Laura; masterpieces are seldom accomplished, so I am just after steady improvement until I get consistent quality. Laura get your painting out of the carrier box and fix it a little if you need to; remember what I told you about the upper corners--bring a tree on one of the sides up beyond the edge of the panel--asymmetry rules! You will like it better and want to post it here. Stu

Stu, I am so happy to see you posted here. This is your master piece of plein air painting! I love the composition, the cypress trees, tree bush for the foreground, evey part of the painting is great! I am laughing when you mention about me as I was thinking to hide this plein air from post here. It is still locked in the carrier box.

Foggy/overcast conditions keep these colors so close together and make it so much trickier than with sun. Great job Stu!
